It definitely was a “Hole-In-One” for the Rotary Club of DeLand when its Masters Mini Golf Tournament raised more than $7000 for local charities and non-profits!  Including picture-perfect weather, this Mini Golf Tournament held Saturday, November 14th at the Family Fun Center in Orange City was awesome!!
After a light breakfast courtesy of Chick-Fil-A and Dunkin’ Donuts, thirty-five teams of two teed off starting at 8:00 a.m. competing in three categories:  Family, Adult and Youth.  The O'Reilly Boys (Tim and son Declan) won in the Family Category; Matt Birnie and Jim Goldthwait crushed the competition in the Adult Category; and KJ Reid bested the Youth Category.  Congratulations to all the winners!!!

An event of this scale takes a lot of planning, groundwork, coordination and volunteer effort.  President-Elect Dave Solar ably chaired this inaugural Mini Golf Tournament assisted by Joanne Saxton, Gery Walker, Bill Stevenson, Larry Drumb, Lliki Moyer, Zach Zacharias, Gary Breckenridge, Keira Espada, Karen Weiss, Patty Bautz, Harper Hill and President Brittany Gloersen.  A particularly big shout-out goes to Lliki Moyer for her outstanding work on securing enough raffle items to fill seven 5-foot tables!  Music was provided by DJ Zach Zacharias.
Of course, this charitable fundraiser would not have been possible without all of our sponsors.  Title Sponsors were AdventHealth, Boulevard Tire and Mainstreet Community Bank.  Other sponsors included MBI Direct Mail, Central Florida Pediatrics, Swim With Becky and Friends, Kurt Collis Tennis Academy, The Baumgartner Co., Pool Renovations by Larry, Harper Hill Allstate Insurance, Goodfellow & Co., Landis Graham French, Stetson Baptist Church, Fleischel Financial Associates, Dale D. Batten DMD, Chick-Fil-A, Dunkin' Donuts, Toy Trains Wanted-Clark Vegazo, NeedsConnector, Brian's Bar-B-Q, Anne H. Stevenson CPA, The Elusive Grape, Joanne Saxton, Gery Walker, Karen Weiss and Zach Zacharias.  Thank you, everyone, for your generous support of the Masters Mini Golf Tournament and your confidence in the Rotary Club of DeLand.
